Walking in the Spirit is Timeless

Despite the Earthly annual events of this world's calendar, make everyday a day of timeless retreat in the Lord.   When Christ dealt with sin, it was not sins he dealt with--it is not about naming bad things in your life, it is not about naming murder, adultery, and idolatry, and all such things--Christ dealt with all Sin, Sin personified, Sin the very element of rebellion against God, the very seed and all its branches and appearances.  The Sin series was CANCELLED.  NIXED. DE-FUNDED. DESTROYED. NEVER TO BE RESURRECTED AGAIN.   SIN IS DEAD.   Adams's sin, and Adam's Great Great Great Great.....Great (indefinite generations) children's sin was all dealt with at Calvary -- once for All Time, in the Spirit realm, a timeless event.  Your sin is already forgiven at Calvary--the question is not of past sin or even of 'a few minutes ago' sin:  It is a questions of your heart choice to obey him now.  Will you obey Jesus now, this instant?  You are being called to His Kingdom to walk as He walked.  Do you surrender you life to him Now?  Come, be knighted!

It Is Finished! 

What are the important dates?  

  • The day you were born again -- it only happens once
  • The day  you affirmed your salvation by public baptism in water -- it only need happen once, but you certainly can reaffirm 
  • The day you received the pouring out of the Spirit and let God control your tongue -- yes the tongue can be tamed by God
  • The day you lead your first person to Christ, and the second, and the third, and the....  what a joy!
  • Every date the Holy Spirit brings to your attention. God has times scheduled throughout the Scriptures and if we are listening HE'll point them out to us.

As Lord Jesus did, you can use the events of this world—New Years, President's Day, Valentine's Day, Spring Harvest, Passover, even Superbowl Weekend to witness for HIM.  It is not a sin to be aware of these events, but they are not  in the timeless calendar of God.  They are here, now, and gone.  But God's calendar lives forever.

The phrase “not a hair of your head will be lost” can be found in Luke 21:18. It’s important to interpret it in the context of the surrounding verses. In Luke 21:16-17, Jesus speaks about the persecution that His followers will face: “ You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Is God at Home in You?

February 6 we had a fantastic discussion of many things which challenged various aspects of each of our belief systems. Some high points include passages from John 14:15-24 and John 17. Jesus promised a Helper or Comforter he would send to us in his place, or rather, not in his place as though he would no longer be present, but in a different capacity he and Father God would come. Lets read it directly: John 14:16-17 I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever,- the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive; for it does not see him, neither knows him.
