Is God at Home in You?

February 6 we had a fantastic discussion of many things which challenged various aspects of each of our belief systems. Some high points include passages from John 14:15-24 and John 17.

Jesus promised a Helper or Comforter he would send to us in his place, or rather, not in his place as though he would no longer be present, but in a different capacity he and Father God would come. Lets read it directly:

John 14:16-17 I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever,-
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive; for it does not see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.
John 14:23 Jesus answered him, "If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.
John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.

We will make Our home with[in] you.

Father God, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit are all making home inside the obedient Believer! If you have entered into trusting Jesus as your Supreme ruler (Lord) and redeemer (Savior) and have invited him into your life, you will have Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Omnipresence living inside you personally! All of the godhead dwelling inside of you!

While Jesus left earth as a physical man, he is everpresent in Believers through the Spirit of God. Early Believers momentarily did not see Jesus but now we perceive him and know him and he comes to us. Unbelievers (the world) cannot perceive or know intimately the presence of God in this way.

Look outside and do you see the wind? No, but look again on a windy day; do you see the wind? Still no, but yet you do say Look at the wind! How do you say look at something that is invisible? Because it manifests itself in tangible visible ways: the leaves blow by and the trees bend over. Do you see Father God and Jesus in yourself? Let the Spirit blow a little harder and you’ll see them!

Pray Now

Heavenly Father, I trust in Jesus name and that all He said is true. I invite you to make your home inside me. Fill me up with all you have to offer. You are welcome in my life: Come dwell in every closet, every corner, every room and space. Mi casa es su casa! My house is your home! I announce Jesus is my Lord and Savior and I expect to be overflowing with the presence of God in my life by HIS Spirit in me. I expect HIM to teach me, to confirm to me I am his family and to remind me of everything Jesus has said and even show me things to come. Thank you Father God for all that you have given and promised through Jesus Christ. Amen.
